Fauci to be Fired?

Dr. Fauci is finding himself in a tough spot right now as some believe that President Trump was considering the possibility of terminating him from his position after the president retweeted a post on Sunday that called for Fauci’s firing.

Fauci previously told Newsmax in January that COVID-19 was “not a major threat,” to the United States or its people.

Later in February, Fauci also gave Americans the advice of not changing their lifestyle despite the Coronavirus already beginning to spread across the nation. He did, however, add that despite the risk being low, it could change at any moment – as it later did in March.

Fauci has been under criticism by some for his previous statements, with president and CEO of the Center for Security Policy, Fred Fleitz, calling him out on Twitter for not being able to predict “how serious the Coronavirus would become.”

Although there are some rumors that Fauci could be losing his job after Trump’s Sunday tweet, most lawmakers don’t think that’s the case, especially given the current situation. In addition, President Trump put an end to speculation regarding Fauci's job status at a Monday Press conference.
