A House Divided: How the Democrat's Impeachment Divided America

There is no doubt that the US is becoming more divided over the past four years. There’s no getting around that fact. There was a time when things were less divided, but that time was a long time ago. So long, in fact, that the last president to win by a clear majority was Ronald Reagan back in 1984. This division can be seen as clear as day with a recent poll showing more than half of Americans against President Trump's impeachment.

This can be thanked the democrats demonizing everything that’s even remotely conservative and yellow journalists that are more interested in sensationalism and fake news.

The Left’s Impeachment Bandwagon

One significant way that the Democrats have only increased partisanship with their calls for impeachment is that partisanship is the main reason for it happening in the first place. They have looked for every possible reason that they can find to levy impeachment against Trump. There is no clear evidence of wrongdoing, and instead, Trump is being continuously attacked by Democratic media, and people are getting sick of it.

For many people, the impeachment of President Donald Trump – and the obsession the Democratic Party had with it – was the last straw. They have been so single-mindedly focused on finding evidence against Trump and trying to impeach him that they have lost sight of their values. In an attempt to do what they feel is “right,” they have alienated the last Republicans who may have shared some opinions with them.

The Road to Hell is Paved With Good Socialism

For some time now, the Democratic party has skewed further and further to the left and are far more socialist than ever. Indeed, one of the most popular Democratic nominees for president – Senator Bernie Sanders – is an avowed socialist. These days the Democratic party now fights for what they consider to be social justice. They want the government to take over healthcare and fight for people to have jobs. These are admirable goals, but they go about them in a way that turns off to the center and right of the political spectrum.

Trump has had one of the most resisted presidencies in American history. This resistance to Trump is how the Democrats were able to secure the House in 2018, and it is fueling the impeachment. The impeachment has moved forward, but it was only possible because the Democrats control the house.

It seems like the Democrats can’t resist taking shots at Trump for every little thing he does. The man has a point when he says he is one of the most scrutinized presidents in history. He can’t even tweet without his enemies making it somehow about them and using it as evidence that he’s some type of monster. This attack the man fallacy has led us to the point we are now. An impeachment inquiry that has costed hundreds of thousands of taxpayer money.

In the End, All for Nothing

Given that the Republicans lawmakers hold the majority in Congress, it’s likely that Trump will be allowed to remain in office. When that happens, then the only thing the Democrat’s impeachment did was further divide America and the political divide between the right and the left. A gap that isn’t about to close any time soon.
