Waste of Money? Bloomberg in for the Long Haul

Democratic presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg is in it for the long run, dismissing the notion of dropping out, "as long as you have a chance of winning."

Bloomberg Is in It Till the 'Bitter End'

"Right to the bitter end," Bloomberg told NBC News' Kasie Hunt when asked whether or not he'll be staying in the race. The billionaire reminisced the times of his New York mayoral campaign, saying the only difference between the two is that instead of driving from event to event, this time around, he's flying.

"I mean, if it was one vote away from a majority, then you'd have to start thinking about (getting out). But yeah, if it's just a plurality, you got to be in it to win it," Bloomberg said, noting that the only real way to get him to drop out of the race is for fellow Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders to secure a majority before the Democratic National Convention.

Despite Bloomberg's late entry and skipping the first four voting states, his position has remained quite solid on RealClearPolitics polls, coming in third, although the real results are yet to be seen as Bloomberg's first appearance on the ballot will be in the Super Tuesday primaries.

Bloomberg also noted at a CNN town hall on Wednesday that his campaign offices will be open for the future nominee, no matter who it is. The former mayor also said that whoever ends up being the Democratic nominee would receive full support, "because the alternative is Donald Trump – and that, we don't want."
